Italian two-seater Strips sofa from the 1970s/80s, designed in 1972 by Cini Boeri for Arflex. This example remains in fully original condition and has been very well preserved with only light signs of use.
The sofa is upholstered in a sand–sage green fabric with a natural, matte appearance. The surface is defined by the characteristic modular quilted structure, with regular stitching that emphasizes the geometric construction of the design. The volume follows Boeri’s distinctive monovolume concept, featuring integrated armrests and a deep, carefully balanced seat. The proportions correspond precisely to the original design, and the padding has retained its shape and stability, indicating careful use and still providing a highly comfortable seating experience.
The Strips model is regarded as one of the most influential designs in Italian seating furniture of the second half of the 20th century. Awarded the Compasso d’Oro, the design introduced a radically new approach to comfort by treating the sofa as a fluid, soft, and continuous volume, free from traditional formal constraints. In doing so, Strips marks an important turning point in the development of modern domestic seating.
