A unique find! This large and extremely rare sideboard, model DC-01, was designed by Cees Braakman for UMS-Pastoe in 1962. This sleek and functional sideboard is primarily crafted from teak wood and combines a minimalist design with high-quality craftsmanship, making it a timeless and versatile piece that fits perfectly in a modern interior.
The design clearly bears the signature of Cees Braakman, featuring characteristic recessed handles and white drop-down doors, an element from his renowned Japanese series. What makes this particular model even more special are the elegantly curved legs and the drawer unit with five drawers, a rare combination within the Pastoe collection.
An icon of Dutch design and craftsmanship from the early 1960s, and a rare find within the UMS-Pastoe collection.
The sideboard is in good vintage condition, with light signs of use consistent with its age.
