Beautiful MP-97 lounge chair designed by Brazilian designer Percival Lafer in the 1970s and produced by MP Lafer. Fully reupholstered in cognac leather, it pairs elegantly with the dark Brazilian (jatoba) hardwood frame. The back reveals the characteristic leather strapping, while the generous cushion features refined tufting and a soft, voluminous appearance.
The geometric solid jatoba legs give the chair a striking structural expression. As with many of Lafer’s pieces, ergonomics and comfort are key: the loose foam cushion gently molds to the body and rests within the flexible leather support system. This MP-97 is a rarely seen model, especially in such beautiful vintage condition.
