This easy chair was designed by Illum Wikkelsø and produced by master carver and cabinetmaker Mikael Laursen. The solid teak frame shows elegant curves and refined joinery, characteristic of Laursen’s craftsmanship. The seat and back are made of black harness leather, attached to the frame and allowed to drape naturally. This relaxed suspension gives the chair its ergonomic quality, as the leather gently supports the body and forms a soft, natural curve when in use.
The combination of warm teak and supple leather creates a beautifully balanced piece. The chair is in very good vintage condition, showing light signs of use consistent with age and material.
